Every day, the sun radiates an enormous amount of energy called solar energy. Capturing sunlight and putting it to work is difficult because the solar energy that reaches the Earth is spread out over a large area. Recently solar technologies have evolved a lot since they first came to existence in the 1960s. After solar photovoltaic’s (PV) there have been many recent research work seen as technological breakthroughs that have positioned the industry for huge growth.
Light sensitive nanoparticle is a new type of light-sensitive nanoparticle called colloidal quantum dots, that many believe will offer a less expensive and more flexible material for solar cells have been in limelight recently. The new material used includes n-type and p-type semiconductors instead of silicon conductors. This is a unique discovery since previous designs weren't capable of functioning outdoors and therefore not practical applications for the solar market.
There have been a lot more research work which will actually line highways and roads with solar panels that would then be used to deploy large amounts of electricity to the grid. This new concept is solar roadways which has already stepped in European nation and is soon going to find its way in India too
